Porto Bay Hotels & Resorts, Lágrimas Hotels & Emotions, Vila Vita Parc, Vila Joya, Casa da Calçada and Fortaleza do Guincho will join hands this year in a tour promoting the outstanding cuisine of Portugal, with a total of at least six events.
The “Stars Route 2011” stars on the 28th April and goes until November.
Chefs Albano Lourenço, Vincent Farges, Vítor Matos, Hans Neuner and Dieter Koschina will host various events, which promise an exclusive and exceptional gastronomic experience. The common denominator for the Chefs is belonging to the elite circle of excellence recognised by the Michelin Guide. Thus, at each event, the host Chef will receive another two, all with Michelin stars, to prepare as a team a tasting menu incorporating some of the distinguished dishes from the famous guide, while also seeking out the richness of flavours and products from each Region.
Between April and November, from the North to the South of Portugal, passing through the island of Madeira, each of the restaurants involved will work as a team to present a tasting menu, which promises to offer unforgettable culinary experiences. Besides “Il Gallo D´Oro”, the starting point for the Stars Route, the following restaurants will also take part in this edition: the “Arcadas Restaurante” , at Quinta das Lágrimas, in Coimbra, with Chef Albano Lourenço; the “Fortaleza do Guincho Restaurant”, in the Fortaleza do Guincho Hotel, in Cascais, with Chef Vincent Farges; the “Largo do Paço Restaurante”, in the Casa da Calçada, in Amarante, with Chef Vítor Matos; the “Ocean Restaurant”, in the Vila Vita Park Hotel, in Porches, with Chef Hans Neuner; and the “Vila Joya Restaurant”, in the Vila Joya Hotel, Algarve, with Chef Dieter Koschina.
A true culinary festival that will offer the opportunity for the gastronomic lovers to enjoy and taste the best things done in Portugal.
